Choose image sources, check the queue and credits, and verify one result before enabling automatic processing. This translated version is a concise guide. The complete technical reference is currently available in Russian.
1. What the module does
The module scans selected information blocks, folders and individual files for JPEG, PNG and WebP images. It sends eligible images to the ANK API and uses a smaller optimized copy when available. The source remains in place. Duplicate paths are not sent simultaneously.
2. Install and connect
Install ank.imagecompress, open its Overview tab, enter your ANK API key and check the connection and credit balance. Verify that the main 1C-Bitrix cron is actually running before enabling automation.
3. Select sources and exclusions
Choose information blocks, site folders or individual images. For a multisite installation, check each site code and domain. Exclude paths that must not be optimized, then review the selection before scanning.
4. Count and start the queue
On Queue and errors, click Count files to scan locally without spending credits. Review the number of distinct paths, already processed images and estimated upper credit use. Then start compression or enable automatic processing on Overview. The queue continues on the server after closing the admin page.
5. Automatic processing and progress
With automatic processing enabled, an hourly agent checks selected sources and adds new or changed images to the shared queue. The active queue continues via a separate agent. Pause stops new starts; an in-flight API request can still finish. Check the stored progress and the next agent run in the admin panel.
6. Results and credits
Search results by filename, inspect the original and optimized file, and compare their sizes. The API usually charges a credit only for a smaller result; the actual charge is recorded. If no smaller result is available, the source is retained. Deleting optimized copies may lead to new processing and credit use when automation remains on.
7. Troubleshooting and support
If nothing happens, check the key, balance, selected sources, main cron and agents. For a failed file, inspect the error and its path, fix access or format problems, and retry one image. For support, send the module version and error details to modules@ank-studio.ru; never send the API key.
